　　R.E. Carroll, Inc., of Ewing, N.J., has acquired the J.H. Calo Company of Westbury, N.Y. The transaction was effective Aug. 17. In the future, J.H. Calo will operate as a division of R.E. Carroll, Inc.

　　Both companies are distributors of specialty chemicals. J.H. Calo Company is a privately held chemical distributor serving the coatings, fragrance, and personal care industries. The 90-year-old R.E Carroll Inc. is another privately held company that distributes raw materials and petroleum products used in the adhesives and sealants, coatings, plastics, and rubber industries. R.E. Carroll uses six warehouse facilities strategically located in Chicago, Ill.; Dallas, Texas; Dalton, Ga.; Ewing, N.J.; Fullerton, Calif.; and Kent, Ohio.
