BASF to Launch Global Learning Campus

BASF will establish a global Learning Campus to offer a variety of best-in-class learning opportunities to its employees. The Learning Campus will focus on life-long learning and create further opportunities for personal and professional development, thereby supporting BASF’s ambitious growth plans.

The new Learning Campus will consolidate all of BASF’s existing learning offerings for professional and personal growth into an integrated global platform, and will include facilities in various BASF locations around the world, as well as virtual courses. The first courses and programs under the new approach will be launched in Asia Pacific, in order to attract and retain the region’s rapidly-developing talent, support employees in their integration into the company, and build technical skills.

To provide an engaging learning environment, BASF will set up a regional facility for the Learning Campus in Singapore, focusing on regional talent development activities as well as providing a hub for learning innovation. The first programs offered by the Learning Campus in Asia Pacific will center on core topics fundamental to the region’s development, such as a “New Leader Program” to groom new leaders and to accelerate their transition from individual contributor to leading teams. A “New Employee Program” will help new joiners to integrate into BASF quickly and perform more effectively in their job. Additionally, the Learning Campus in Asia Pacific will oversee a large-scale program to train BASF employees across the region in sustainable development. As of December 31, 2012, BASF employed more than 16,000 people in the Asia Pacific region.
